Jennifer Dellos has expressed a love for animals all of her life. Even as a child and on into her teen years, she tried her hand at teaching the family dogs to perform silly tricks and behave better. Once she finally convinced her parents to let her own a horse she began testing her budding skills on training horses. What was once an interested became a hobby and family and friends began to ask for her help in training their own pets. Paralleling her delight in dogs, Jennifer's involvement with horses also grew and she soon found herself volunteering at a local race track, grooming and hot walking Thoroughbred horses. Jennifer went on to earn several ribbons in horseman's classes with her two horses, Cedar and Final Prospect.
What launched Jennifer's career in dog training was her desire to stay home with her new family and homeschool her children. What better way to achieve this and still get to play with dogs?? In 1996, Jennifer was hired by a national dog training company to teach group classes and meet with clients individually. Within a year's time she was promoted to District Training Manager, managing 5 trainers and the group classes they taught, in addition to maintaining her own busy private and group clientele. Jennifer recognized the importance of keeping abreast of new training methodologies/practices and provided opportunities for the trainers she supervised to attend learning workshops so that they could pass on their knowledge to their own clients.
As time went on, Jennifer's love of animals and her desire to help owners and their dogs grew into a very busy part time business. She moved to Las Vegas in 2002 and refocused her energies on the fundamentals and the things most important to her - God and family.
To date, Jennifer has served as co-creator and director of a Canine Prison Program. In this program, local shelter dogs scheduled for euthanasia were rehabilitated and trained as service dogs for the hearing-impaired by inmates serving long term sentences at a local correctional facility. Over the years, Jennifer has attended multiple animal behavior seminars, received accolades and awards from local businesses and is now a mentor trainer for a nationwide school for dog trainers. Whether training for fun or for profit, Jennifer will always have fun playing with dogs!
